It is an understatement to suggest that the last 12 months have been a rollercoaster. Event after event has been cancelled from the running calendar.
Despite all the challenges that are being faced around the world today, we all need to ensure that we are doing our best to keep fit.
With light at last at the end of the tunnel and conventional organised runs possibly starting in the near future, this virtual run provides an excellent opportunity to maintain your fitness ahead of the real thing.
How does it work?
Choose to run individually or as a team-either as a family or with your regular running group.
Select a distances: 5k, 10k and 21k.
Run it: On a treadmill or outside at any location, any route and at any pace. It must be completed by the 21st June 2021.
Use one of the many available running apps (ie strava/Nike run club etc).Upload your time and a screenshot of your app completed run map. Upon completion runners will need to upload their time.
This is a fun event making it an ideal opportunity for families (including younger children), to use to exercise & time run together.
All Finishers will receive a quality GREEN medal upon completion of the event.
You can encourage family and friends to join you in a virtual run by creating a team. For example, if you and three friends sign up for the 10k virtual run, once you have each completed your 10k, you can view the team leaderboard which helps allow for bragging rights!
The entry fee is £15 for a single runner.
All surplus funds raised will go to local charities.
